Our work process

1

Drop us a line. If you are looking for an estimate or want more information, please write to us at info@chameleoncollective.ca. Don’t forget to mention:

  • the service you need
  • when you need it (date and time)
  • an approximate word count (or send the final version of your document for evaluation)

2

Nice to meet you! Your contact person will get back to you with a quotation and our terms. Even if more than one Chameleon works on your project, communication and invoicing for each project goes through just one member. This simplifies the process for you.

3

Green light. Send us a confirmation by email, accompanied by the final version and support materials (glossaries or other terminology and reference documents).

4

Let’s get to work! The best match in our team takes on your document. After the translator does her work, a second member revises it. The reviser corrects typos, improves style and ensures your guidelines and terminology have been followed. For large projects, the same process applies, but with more people involved.

We work collaboratively and communicate daily. The other four members are available when your translator-revisor duo has questions, meaning your project benefits from six heads instead of two!

5

Here you go. On or before the promised date, your contact person delivers your document, accompanied by an invoice payable to her upon reception. After reading over your document, feel free to call or email us with any questions. One round of follow‐up revisions (minor modifications and quick questions) is included in our quotation. Any further changes will be charged at our hourly rate.

6

Thanks so much! We offer several payments methods—whatever works for you is fine with us. We’re also happy to provide cumulative monthly invoices for frequent clients.

7

See you next time. Your repeat business is important to us. We are open to feedback and appreciate your help in improving our service. If you have comments or suggestions, let us know.
